We're glad you asked. The Sidney Sleep Pillow is a very unique combination of soft and supportive. Our proprietary blend of Certipur-US Certified shredded memory foam gives you a super plush feel that supports your head and neck in whatever position you decide to sleep in.

The curved shape contours to your body ensuring you are aligned and wake up without any aches and pains. In addition to being hypoallergenic, the bamboo cover runs cool, meaning no tossing and turning from overheating… and did we mention it’s machine washable? Fall in love with sleep again and wake up not hating your alarm clock.

What is used to fill the pillow?

The pillow is filled with a proprietary blend of Certipur-US Certified shredded memory foam. Our foam is cut larger creating more air pockets meaning the pillow retains its shape longer and makes you feel like you are sleeping on a cloud.

Do your pillows sleep hot?

Some pillow brands sleep hot. Not ours. It's uplifting and breathes naturally so you sleep cool and comfortable all night long.

Our choice in materials ensures the pillows breathe exceptionally well, so you can rest assured that you will sleep comfortably cool.

Does this pillow have cooling capabilities?

We chose Bamboo for our outer layer because of its thermal regulation properties. Couple this with the shredded memory foam fill which works to allow maximum airflow through the pillow, aiding in cooling.

Whilst it may not feel cool to the touch, our bamboo cover is keeping you cool and your temperature regulated throughout the night.

What’s in the inside to have a chemical smell? Thought it was all natural. What are the chemicals, and why would it be added to something you sleep on for 7-9 hrs?

If you detect an odor from the pillow, it's most likely a byproduct of manufacturing and packaging.

The shredded foam inside the SidneySleep Pillow is CertiPUR-US certified and bamboo is natural, so there are no harmful chemicals in play. We suggest unzipping the pillow cover and allowing the pillow to air out to diminish the odor.

If you have additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at and we'd be happy to help.

Is this pillow a heavy pillow like the bamboo & memory foam pillows are?

Although bamboo memory foam pillows generally tend to be a bit heavy, our Sidney Sleep pillow is made from premium shredded memory foam as opposed to one solid block making it light and airy.

The Bamboo Curve Pillow is pretty, heavily stuffed out of the box so you have the option to remove some fill if the loft is too high for you. It's super plush and moldable, and also very supportive at the same time.

How soft is your pillow?

Our pillows are all adjustable and come with shredded memory foam. This means you can adjust them to your liking. Too soft, add more fill. Too hard remove some fill. Customize the pillow to match your needs and wants.

Is there any down material in this pillow? Is it considered hypoallergenic?

There is no down material in the Sidney Sleep Pillow - it is totally bird friendly 😉 The fill in the pillow consists of shredded memory foam. The entire construction of the pillow is considered hypoallergenic.

With or without a pillow case, it's up to you. You will feel the cooling benefits either way.

We're all about good sleep!

Has this been certified not to off gas chemicals?

Yes, absolutely. We sleep on these pillows, our family and friends sleep on them too, just like our customers do. We use premium certified Certipur-Us Memory Foam, have our materials all tested with OEKO TEX 100 to ensure no harmful chemicals are used and on top of that, we submit our pillows to federal regulatory checks and testing with the CSPC. No harmful chemicals go anywhere near our pillows.

Do you have to stuff it?

This Memory Foam Pillow comes generously stuffed, right out of the box.
If you want a much firmer pillow, we include a bag of extra foam you can add in to increase the pillows loft.

You don't need to however if the pillow is at the right height for you.
If you find the pillow is too high, we also include a drawstring bag to store any excess foam you may foam.

Can the internal foam Itself be washed?

The Removable case can be washed without a problem.

We wouldn't suggest washing the internal foam tho.

When wet, the filling ( memory foam ) acts like millions of tiny sponges soaking up water, making the pillow increase dramatically in physical weight.

You'd need to be confident you would be able to get the filling dry with the use of a Clothes Dryer before attempting to wash it.

If you've got a clothes dryer and a good washing machine, you can possibly try this however it's not something we would normally recommend be done.

How long does this pillow last?

The Sidney Sleep pillow has a 5 year warranty and with proper care it will last many years beyond that.

How do you clean the pillow?

To clean the pillow, follow these steps:

1. Remove the insert and wash your outer cover only

2. Turn it inside out and wash in warm water with a mild detergent

3. Tumble dry with low heat or hang out to dry

4. Ensure the cover is completely dry before using it again

Is this pillow washable?

Answer Content

Is bamboo stronger than cotton?

It’s no secret that viscose from bamboo is one of the strongest and most affordable fabrics to wear, sleep in, or just cozy up against. Whether you are talking about a shirt or pants, or bed sheets or towels, bamboo will outlast cotton in keeping shape, strength, and durability three times over when cared for properly.

Is bamboo softer than cotton?

Textiles made with Bamboo have been called by many consumers softer than that of good quality cotton or even linen. When made properly, it should be extremely cushiony and soft to the hands and body. This is partly due to the natural bamboo fibers and finely woven threads that makeup the material of the garment.

Is bamboo eco-friendly?

Bamboo uses 1/3 lesser water to grow. It requires no irrigation requiring 1/3 the amount of water to grow than is necessary for cotton. Water is becoming more of a bounded commodity every day and many farmers don’t have the necessary water to grow their crops properly. Bamboo has always been a self-sufficient crop and uses water much more efficiently than cotton and other trees.

Are your pillows hypoallergenic?

Yes. Our pillows are hypoallergenic

What is the warranty on the Sidney Sleep Pillow and what does it cover?

We offer a 5 year warranty on all materials and workmanship. Examples of this may include stitching or seams becoming undone from natural wear. The warranty is non-transferable, so second-hand Sidney Sleep Pillows, black market pillows, and mysterious hand me downs are not covered.

How does the warranty work?

As we said above, we provide a 5-year limited warranty for our pillows. To make a warranty claim, email and provide her with your order number.

The warranty covers material damage to the pillow(s) incurred under correct use or manufacturer defect. Sidney Sleep is not liable for claims that exceed the cost of the product. Sidney Sleep is not responsible for any incidental or consequential damage from the use of its products. The warranty does not apply in cases of misuse or abuse of the products. Improper installation or failure to follow washing instructions will void the warranty.

Please note that warranties only apply to products that are purchased directly from Sidney Sleep or its authorized sellers. Any warranty claims made outside of the 50 states are responsible for shipping and any applicable duties and taxes.

What tips can you offer for the sleep trial?

Using an old pillow with your new mattress? A proper pillow is more than an indulgence, it provides proper support for your head, neck and upper back. In short, a great pillow will help keep your spine properly aligned and prevent neck pain. If your pillow is more than 2-3 years old, it's time to replace them. For back sleepers, a firmer pillow is ideal to help maintain the proper alignment or curve of your neck and head, according to a 2015 study in the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics. Our Sidney Sleep Bamboo Curve should be ideal. For side sleepers — especially those with preexisting issues of shoulder or hip pain — a medium-loft pillow tends to work best. When using an adjustable Sidney Sleep Bamboo Curve Pillow, you may want to remove a modest amount of the initial fill. A zipper on the top of the pillow provides easy access. You may also benefit from using a pillow between your knees or a body pillow. This will help minimize the twisting of your hips, preventing your upper leg from pulling your spine out of alignment and reducing stress on your hips and lower back. For stomach sleepers, who keep their face very close to the mattress, a thinner pillow works well. Too much loft could leave your neck sore. When using an adjustable Sidney Sleep Bamboo Curve Pillow try removing some fill to suit your preference.

By morning, the inside pushes to the sides and the area my head lays is so flat. What should I do?

When this happens, generally you need to add a little extra foam in and that tends to solve the night time shifting. Keep in mind memory foam is designed to take the weight and then in a sense "remember" the lower position. This happens to many sleepers but as mentioned, add a little extra foam in and you should see that stop.
You don't always need to put it into the dryer.
Keep up a good daily fluffing and Padding when making up the bed in the mornings also.

If you need further help, reach out to us via your order and we'll be happy to help further.

How do I make it my own?

Our pillows focus more on adjustability to ensure a better match between pillow and mattress no matter the situation, that said, the adjustments made are unique to each customer.

The goal is for YOU to feel comfortable on the pillow (if someone else were to try it at your setting and feel uncomfortable for example, that is not a concern, as long as you are resting comfortably).

You want your neck properly aligned and depending on your mattress firmness/softness, that will dictate the level of foam in the pillow. You may need to remove or add some in.

For example, say you had a softer mattress and had about 4 - 5 handfuls of foam previously removed from your personal Sidney Sleep Pillow, allowing you to sink into it more, so your neck and shoulders were aligned.

If you then purchase a firmer mattress, you will need to adjust the fill and add in more fill, as the 4 to 5 hand fulls removed would now cause your neck to stretch and angle down. Getting this right can take some time, but once you do, it's magic.

How do I get rid of the smell?

Our founder has a super sensitive nose so this was something we tested out before we started selling.

1. Wash the outer cover, in your favorite softener/detergent and air the inside layer out.

You can also speed up the airing by putting it into the dryer for 30-40mins on low/medium heat. This may not remove the smell the first time but after the dryer is done, air the pillow insert out on a drying rack or stool in an open space or near an open window. "Balcony' is the best spot.

The smell is the brand new manufacturing smell. It's totally common but it gets trapped in when we box the pillows. It DOES 100% go away however it can be 1 or 2 days for some people, it can be a week for others.

1 thing some people have tried and DON'T do this, but they put more pillowcases over it to try to block the smell, it just needs a chance to fully escape and it's out of your life forever.

If this doesn't work, please reach out to us and we will work with you further.

I wake up with a sore neck

First thing you need to know is what kind of mattress you have. That will help determine how much fill you need.

For example, say you have a medium mattress. Medium mattresses tend to let you sink in, so we would recommend removing foam first then giving it a good fluff and try it out. What you need to be looking for is ensuring that your neck is not craning forward or tilting backward. Do keep in mind that memory foam "settles" a little. so what is a tad high at 10:05pm, could be perfect at 10:10pm after it has formed to your heads shape and weight.

Note: You don't need to try the pillow only at night time... (ruining your sleep) give this a try during the day, or well before bedtime so you have a chance to switch out the pillow if you need.
